PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY FOR SDG PERMANENT AMBASSADORS AND REPRESENTATIONS

The Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals (PASDG) has created, with the support of the FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, a network of Permanent Ambassadors and Representations, destined to contribute to the international  representation of PASDG interests  and policies and spreading the information about the PASDG Initiative, fostering debate and empowering citizens from all countries to act on causes launched and supported by PASDG. 

Their work is done on a voluntary basis.

They come from a wide range of organisations active at international, national or regional level, and they all have something in common – expertise in parliamentary activity,  foreign affairs spheres and a common hope: that is to encourage citizens' involvement in policy-making.

As Head of Delegation, the PASDG Ambassadors are the permanent and principal representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals (PASDG) vis-à-vis different states. 

His/Her role is to promote the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals (PASDG) unity, visibility and effectiveness in relations with the state/region/organization of appointment.

Ambassadors represent the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals (PASDG) in the world and give voice to our values and interests while promoting peace, democracy and human rights around the globe

ACADEMICIAN HUN SEN-THE ACTING HEAD OF STATE OF CAMBODIA APPOINTED AS GLOBAL AMBASSADOR FOR TOURISM AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Prime Minister Hun Sen has received the certification as Global Ambassador for Tourism and Sustainable Development Goals from the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals (PASDG) . The ceremony took place at the Peace Palace.

Congratulating the PM and presenting him with the letter of designation ceremony was Dr. Anton Caragea, President of the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals (PASDG).

 The the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals (PASDG)  was founded in 2015;, and is associated with 27 nations.

President Dr. Dr. Anton said that Mr. Hun Sen has helped the people of Cambodia attain national pride, independence, economic growth and stable jobs, and has helped millions to be lifted out of poverty. He admires the premier for giving them a sense of direction, of stability in a troubled world.

"This is what we expect from a Global Ambassador for Tourism and SDGs in the world of today – to help us restore hope to the world," he said. "We have entrusted him [the PM] with the highest honor we can give: to be our voice, to represent humanity's aspirations for a better world, to be our world ambassador, leader and creator of visionary policies."

Mr Hun Sen expressed his gratitude for the appointment – not just in his own name, but in the name of the entire Cambodian people.

"I will do my best to fulfill His Excellency's [President Dr Anton] expectations," he said, adding that the government pledged itself to advance culture and tourism in response to the trust given it by the the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals (PASDG) .
