President of National Peoples Congress of China congratulates President Dr. Anton Caragea on his election

The President of the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals Prof. Dr Anton Caragea, received a congratulatory message from the President of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Mr. Zhang Dejiang:

"On behalf of the National People's Congress of the People`s Republic of China, I extend warm congratulations to you on your recent election as President of the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals.

I am confident that we can count on your full support and active cooperation in responding to the key challenges that the world has been facing at present, like persistent inequalities and environmental degradation. I am also positive that the existing good relations between the National People`s Congress and the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals would further be strengthened during your mandate", it is stated in the letter the NPC President, Mr Zhamng Dejang.

The President of the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals, Mr Anton Caragea, thanked for the congratulatory wishes, stressing that the numerous challenges we have been facing nowadays at the national and global level required, as never before, a sincere and great commitment to the values that form the core of the NPC– human rights, democracy and the rule of law.

"The Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals remains committed to further promotion and protection of our common values and principles, as well as to strengthening cooperation among member states.

I am convinced that the Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals, through its delegations, but also through other forms of parliamentary cooperation, will continue to build strong and even more meaningful relations with the NPC of China " said the President Anton Caragea in his response to the message.
